Ex-Commander of the NKR Armed Forces Jalal Harutyunyan's Appeal Denied

The Armenian Supreme Court, in its decision dated September 26, has rejected the appeal of former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Jalal Harutyunyan and his lawyer, thereby upholding the previous ruling.

This information was reported by 'Datalex'. Convicted Jalal Harutyunyan will serve his sentence in the relevant penitentiary facility.

It is noteworthy that Jalal Harutyunyan had filed another cassation appeal, requesting to annul the verdict against him and to issue a court act of acquittal.

Recall that the Court of General Jurisdiction of Syunik Province, presided over by Judge Garik Abelian, found Jalal Harutyunyan guilty on January 15, under Article 550, Part 3 of the RA Criminal Code, sentencing him to 5.5 years in prison.
