Do You Understand the Difference Between 50 Thousand and 7 Thousand? Mariam Zatyryan to Khmoyan

How can one be so careless regarding statistics, especially when it concerns human beings and human life? This was stated by Mariam Zatyryan, the press secretary of the Minister of Health of Armenia.

“Ms. Khmoyan just announced from the high podium of the National Assembly that ‘...only in 2024, 50 thousand citizens have been recorded with cancer.’ However, in response to her written inquiry, we have presented and now reaffirm: as of 2024, there are indeed 50 thousand citizens in Armenia WITH CANCER recorded, of which 7 thousand are primary patients. Do you understand the difference between 50 thousand and 7 thousand? Do you understand the difference between the recorded and those diagnosed in a specific year? Do not mislead the people with attempts to spread alarming sentiments. I ask our colleagues in the media to be vigilant regarding the accuracy of the numbers presented,” Zatyryan wrote.
