VIDEO: Nikol Pashinyan on the Events in Artsakh
During a government meeting, the Prime Minister of Armenia addressed the recent accident in the only high-voltage line supplying Artsakh from Armenia. According to Pashinyan, until now, there has been no opportunity for either the relevant services of Nagorno-Karabakh, the peacekeepers, or any information regarding the ongoing situation to be provided.
“Rotational outages have begun, kindergartens are not fully operational, workplaces are closing, further exacerbating the social situation. My assessment remains the same: the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan aims to break the will of the Armenians in Artsakh to live in their own homeland, but I believe that it is unbreakable… A political dialogue must begin between Azerbaijan and Artsakh. The closure of the Lachin Corridor is a provocation, the ultimate goal of which is a new military escalation, and no actions should be taken that are desirable for the proponents of military escalation scenarios. One of the objectives of this provocation and escalation is to obscure and remove from the agenda the obvious necessity for communication between Baku and Stepanakert. No actions should be taken that contribute to the solution of this provocative issue. On the other hand, our diplomatic service should double its efforts to increase the international visibility of the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh,” said Pashinyan.
