The People Will No Longer Grant You a Mandate: Sahakyan to Pashinyan

Pashinyan shamelessly declares in Strasbourg that he has fulfilled the promises made in 2021 and hopes to receive a mandate from the people in 2026. This was stated by Ishkhan Sahakyan, a member of the Supreme Body of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun, on his Facebook page.

“What happened in 2021? The ruling power, promising the people the de-occupation of Hadrut and Shushi, the protection of the right to self-determination of Artsakh, and the pursuit of international recognition of the Genocide, deceived the public, was re-elected, and did the exact opposite. Now you want a new mandate for what? Why should the people grant it to you? Do you want a mandate to give away Tigranashen or, according to your statement, the 'Azerbaijani territories' under the control of Armenia? In the end, will you amend the Constitution and turn Armenia into a Turkish protectorate? Do you want a mandate to establish a final dictatorship in Armenia or to triple the debt to future generations?

I am confident that the people have understood everything well and will no longer grant you a mandate, because, as the well-known saying goes, it is possible to deceive part of the people for a long time, it is possible to deceive the entire people for a certain time, but it is impossible to deceive the entire people all the time.”
