The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, met with representatives of the Russian community in Artsakh on May 10, led by community leader Alexander Bordov. This information was provided by the president's press service.
During the meeting, issues related to the republic's daily activities, as well as policies being implemented in the social, educational, and cultural sectors, were discussed. Addressing the life of the Russian community in Artsakh, Harutyunyan emphasized that it is continuously under the focus of the state, and the authorities will continue to do everything possible to support the community's activities.
In this context, it was highlighted that following the official status granted to the Russian language, efforts are being made to establish Russian cultural houses in the territory of Artsakh, to provide them with the necessary resources, to implement various cultural programs, and to enhance the popularity and study of the Russian language.
It is worth recalling that in March 2021, the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh made amendments to the Language Law, according to which Russian, in addition to Armenian, also became an official language in Artsakh.
