Three Young Men Kidnapped, Beaten, and Extorted in Kotayk Province
In Kotayk Province, a group of young men kidnapped a 29-year-old resident of Buryghavan, held him inside a half-built structure, beat him, and demanded money. The public relations service of the RA Police has reported that law enforcement officials uncovered the crime committed on September 18.
It has been determined that a 28-year-old resident of Buryghavan, along with another individual, forcibly transported their 29-year-old compatriot to a half-constructed building located in the "Apple Orchards" area of Nor Geghi village, where they were joined by a 30-year-old resident of Nor Geghi. During an altercation, the latter even attempted to strangle the 29-year-old man, who, however, stabbed him in the leg with a knife and tried to escape, which he failed to do.
During this time, the 30-year-old man fired a shot from a firearm. Other individuals also joined the incident, and the two friends of the 29-year-old were brought to the same building, where they were also beaten. They were held for several hours, after which their mobile phones were taken, and they were released with a demand for fifteen thousand dollars from each.
A criminal case has been initiated. Two young men, aged 23 and 28 from Buryghavan, and a 30-year-old from Nor Geghi, have been arrested and presented to the prosecuting authority.
