Pashinyan is Confident that He Will Prove Peace is Established by 2026
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is confident that by 2026 he will be able to prove that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan is established. He stated this during a press briefing in Strasbourg, referencing conflicting statements made by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev that contradict the idea of peace.
"Both we and Azerbaijan talk about peace, but there are misunderstandings related to adjacent topics. Many people, both in Armenia and abroad, are trying in every possible way to prove that this is not peace, it is an empty statement... I say we will try to prove the opposite... Let me express confidence that we will prove the opposite," Pashinyan declared.
He is confident that in this matter, he will receive support from the citizens of Armenia during the parliamentary elections in 2026.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Ilham Aliyev signed a joint declaration consisting of 7 points in Washington on August 8, which aims to create a strategic transit route through the southern part of Armenia (Syunik Province), to be called "Trump's Road."
