Lukashenko Calls Poland's Border Closure a Deception

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has referred to Poland's recent closure of its border with Minsk as a deception and has called for cooperation.

“What has this led to? This is a greater deception,” Lukashenko said today, as reported by the BelTA news agency.

Despite this, the Belarusian president remains hopeful and believes that the Polish people will ultimately be able to influence the situation and politics in their country.

He emphasized that Belarus is committed to friendly cooperation. “But we cannot act like this. We need to calm down, cooperate, be friends, and help each other. Especially those who live on both sides of the border. We need to assist them in engaging in production, business, and agriculture. People should be friends. This is our goal,” Lukashenko stated.

It is noteworthy that on the night of September 12, Poland closed its border with Belarus. Prime Minister Donald Tusk justified the decision citing “security interests,” referring to the activation phase of the Russian-Belarusian “Zapad-2025” military exercises. The exercises took place from September 12 to 16.
