Zelensky: ‘They said they would capture the Donetsk region in spring... winter is already starting’
“This year, Ukraine became a global example of courage. Billions of people across all continents have seen what Ukrainian resilience is and why Russian terror will not achieve its objective,” wrote Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on his Telegram channel.
He also noted that the situation at the front is severe: “Despite the enormous losses of the Russian army, the occupiers are still trying to advance in the Donetsk region and are planning something in the south. But we are holding on and, most importantly, we are not allowing the enemy to carry out its intentions. They initially said they would capture the Donetsk region in spring, summer, and autumn. This week, winter is already starting. They have wasted their regular army there, losing hundreds of mobilized men and mercenaries every day. They are using barricades there. This year, Russia will lose its hundreds of thousands of soldiers, and only God knows how many of them are mercenaries. And Ukraine will stand strong. And the world will do everything to hold all the perpetrators of this criminal war accountable. Glory to all those who fight for freedom! Glory to all those who work for our victory! Eternal memory to all those who gave their lives for Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine!”
