We Must Work for the Aliyev-Pashinyan Meeting to Take Place: Aghajanyan

We do not consider the situation to be a dead end; we have merely noted that there was a clear agreement, and Armenia is not backing away from that agreement. This was stated today, November 30, during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly by Eduard Aghajanyan, the chairman of the National Assembly Foreign Relations Committee, in reference to the cancellation of the upcoming Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting scheduled for December.

“Azerbaijan's position and behavior are not new in this regard. There have been other instances where the Azerbaijani side has refused to attend meetings as per preliminary agreements. This is not new in this sense, which is certainly not a positive development, but we do not consider the process to be a deadlock. We must work to ensure that the meeting takes place,” he stated.

It should be noted that the meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan is scheduled for December 7 in Brussels; however, the President of Azerbaijan has declared that the meeting will not take place, as Armenia insists that, as in previous instances, French President Emmanuel Macron also be present at the meeting.
