Intelligence Services Contact Telegram Founder Ahead of Elections in Moldova

Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, has revealed how, on the eve of the presidential elections scheduled for October 2024 in Moldova, French intelligence promised him support in court in exchange for his "services." In a post on his channel, Durov stated that about a year ago, French special services indirectly approached him, asking for assistance in pressuring certain Telegram channels into censorship ahead of the Moldovan presidential elections. He rejected their request.

“Later, the intermediary informed me that in exchange for this cooperation, the French special services would say good things about me to the judge who made the decision regarding my arrest last August,” Durov wrote.

Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, commented on this information to RIA Novosti by saying, “whoever had doubts.” According to her, the West operates in all directions without a conscience.
