Details Emerge on Murder of 39-Year-Old Man in Araks Village; Gun and Drugs Found
The murder that took place in Araks village of Armavir region was reportedly triggered by insults directed at a dog. This information has been circulated by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
On September 27, around 7 PM, a 33-year-old resident of Araks had a dispute with fellow villagers over the issue of insulting his dog, during which he stabbed one person with a knife, causing bodily harm. He then fired shots at those present with a handgun, resulting in 39-year-old Masis Asatryan receiving a gunshot wound. Asatryan was transported to the hospital in Vagharshapat but died without regaining consciousness.
“Shortly after the incident, police discovered the 33-year-old resident of Araks, arresting him on suspicion of murder and causing bodily harm. He was brought to the Vagharshapat community police department. A personal search revealed a metal pipe and a syringe filled with a substance resembling marijuana,” the police reported. They further stated that the individual had previously been convicted of other criminal offenses while in custody. Operational data regarding the illegal possession of weapons and ammunition had been received regarding him, leading to verification visits; however, no weapons were found at his home.
