Trump Signs Executive Order Establishing Death Penalty for Murders in Washington

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order establishing the death penalty for individuals accused of murders in Washington. This was reported by various media outlets, citing information from the White House.

During a meeting with reporters at the White House, Trump stated that the death penalty is in line with the capital's status. “We are not playing games,” Trump emphasized, noting that there have been no murder incidents recorded in Washington over the past four weeks since the deployment of National Guard troops.

“Those who kill people in Washington face the death penalty,” he said, adding that the executive order takes effect immediately.

Following the signing ceremony, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that she wants the death penalty to be permitted nationwide. “We are fighting for this not just in Washington, but across the country,” Bondi told reporters.
