The head of European Union diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, has emphasized that the dependence of certain European countries on Russian energy resources fuels the war and undermines the unity of the alliance.

She pointed out that U.S. President Donald Trump is correct in criticizing European countries for continuing to purchase oil and gas from Russia. According to her, EU member states should abandon Russian energy resources.
