Man Attacked with Axe in Ijevan, Suspect Arrested
The operational management center of the Tavush region police received a report that a resident of Blbulyan Street in Ijevan had been struck in the hand and foot with an axe. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Later, a report was also received from the 'Ijevan' medical center, stating that a 35-year-old man had been admitted with multiple injuries.
Officers from the Criminal Police of the Tavush regional department were dispatched. It was discovered that during a quarrel over previous disputes, a 39-year-old man residing on Aslanyan Street in Ijevan inflicted the injuries using the axe he had with him. After the incident, he fled the scene.
After a joint operation and explanatory work by Tavush criminal police and community police of Ijevan, the 39-year-old man presented himself at the department on September 23 and confessed to the crime. He has since been transferred to the Tavush regional investigative department and then to the detention facility.
