The Issue is Under Government Attention: Eduard Aghajanyan

It can be noted that there is no legal framework in the mining industry, which is why the government is cautious in its decisions, said Eduard Aghajanyan, the chief of staff to the Prime Minister, during a briefing with journalists in response to a question about the Prime Minister's silence regarding the Amulsar issue.

“Any decision can have specific legal implications, not so much in the context of the political team but in terms of Armenia’s international rating. Accordingly, we are in the decision-making phase, and we have had consultations on this topic,” Aghajanyan said.

He did not specify the timeline for decision-making, stating that the issue is under the government's attention. “I would not characterize it as silence. The government is taking concrete actions, including to regulate the legal framework,” he added.
