Upcoming Hours Will Be Crucial for Iran's Nuclear Program: Macron
The issue of restoring the sanctions imposed on Iran by the UN Security Council could be resolved in the upcoming hours, reports gazetaru.
This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron while speaking during the general political debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
"The upcoming hours will be crucial. Either Iran will make a gesture of goodwill, return to the path of peace and responsibility, allow the International Atomic Energy Agency to do its work, and transfer its enriched uranium stockpiles, or sanctions must come into effect. Tomorrow, I will have the opportunity to discuss this with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian," said Macron.
The French leader placed full responsibility for the lack of compromise regarding Iran's nuclear program on Tehran and called for the restoration of oversight over it. According to him, "a corresponding program already exists."
