Turkey Increases Efforts to Halt Russian-Ukrainian Conflict, Erdogan

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York. During their meeting at the UN headquarters, the two parties discussed various matters, particularly the attacks by Israel on Gaza, as well as regional and global issues.

Erdogan noted that Israel's aggression targets not only Palestinians but also regional and global peace. The Turkish President also stated that the international community must increase pressure on Israel to ensure the unhindered access to humanitarian aid for Gaza.

Referring to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Erdogan emphasized that Turkey has ramped up efforts to cease this conflict and has highlighted the necessity for immediate ceasefire and the acceleration of efforts to achieve lasting peace.

The meeting was attended by Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, Director of Public Relations of the Turkish Presidency Burhanettin Duran, and Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç.
