Turkish Presidential Candidate Withdraws from Race Due to Sex Scandal
Turkey's Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu has once again accused the United States of interfering in the electoral process in his country. The Minister's latest complaint from Washington was triggered by the resignation of Muharrem Ince, the candidate of the 'Homeland' party, from participating in the presidential elections.
The presidential elections in Turkey are scheduled for May 14. Yesterday, Muharrem Ince, the leader of the 'Homeland' party, announced that he would no longer participate in the presidential elections. As a reason, he cited various pressures in the form of different provocations, accusations, and disinformation, without providing further details.
According to TASS reports, the politician decided to withdraw from the elections following the emergence of 'sexual nature' videos involving him on social media.
