Former Official's Lawyer Doubts Avagyan's Suicide Theory
Boris Avagyan's lawyer, Natalia Chernikova, told RT that she does not believe in the theory of Avagyan's suicide. She emphasized that his character speaks against this possibility—he is a fighter who does not like to lose and is a devout person.
It is also noted that a knife was found near the body of former official Boris Avagyan, who allegedly committed suicide at the Armenian consulate in St. Petersburg, as reported by emergency services to RIA Novosti.
Investigators from the Investigative Committee are working at the Armenian consulate in St. Petersburg, where former official Boris Avagyan was found dead, as confirmed by law enforcement officials.
Initial reports, citing sources, indicated that Avagyan had committed suicide. On Tuesday, he escaped from the Kronstadt District Court, where a preliminary detention measure had been imposed against him. This was reported by Daria Lebedeva, head of the joint press service of St. Petersburg courts.
