Tigran Khachatryan Was Dismissed for Only One Reason: He Mentioned That Iskander Had No Issues
The Ministry of Defense has clarified that the journalist misreported and distorted the statements of the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Tigran Khachatryan, who had 'dared' to contradict Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's irresponsible statements about the Iskander operational-tactical complex. The consequences were immediate: Armenian national hero, Lieutenant General Tigran Khachatryan was dismissed from his position. This was reported on Facebook by Tigran Abrahamyan, head of the Analytical Center 'Hayakert'.
'A person was dismissed from office solely because he, recognizing the absurdity and threat of the situation, stated that Iskander had no issues and urged not to delve into the topic. By the way, the Minister of Defense also found himself in an absurd situation—while the ministry announced that General Khachatryan's words had been distorted, it was immediately followed by his dismissal. It turns out that he wasn’t distorted; the Minister of Defense and the Prime Minister are in a situation where, as with other issues, 'the dog does not recognize its master'. It is regrettable that the general entered a game initially laid down by Pashinyan,' wrote Abrahamyan.
Recall that earlier Yerevan.today published an interview with Tigran Khachatryan, in which he notably mentioned that the Deputy Chief of the General Staff laughed upon hearing that the Iskander missile had a 10 percent chance of exploding and added that it's not serious.
