Duration of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Conflict: Trump to Aliyev

Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Vice President of Azerbaijan, shared a video on her Instagram page from New York, where the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly is currently taking place.

In the published video, U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking at an event dedicated to Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, asked President Ilham Aliyev how long the conflict between the two countries has lasted, suggesting that it had been around 20 years. In response, the Azerbaijani leader stated that it has lasted for more than 30 years and thanked Trump for the assistance he has provided in resolving the conflict, emphasizing that it has been addressed largely due to the efforts of the U.S. president.

This dialogue was met with thunderous applause from all present at the event.
