Hamas will play no role in the governance of Gaza. This was stated by Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.
“Hamas and other groups must surrender their weapons to the Palestinian authority,” emphasized the Palestinian president. According to him, the Palestinian National Authority aims to create a “unified state without illegal weapons, led by legitimate security forces.”
