Azerbaijani Delegate Discusses Withdrawal of Azerbaijani Forces from Armenia's Sovereign Territory

Everything that leads to a positive outcome takes time, and we are confident that both peoples are against the conflict and are ready to start the process of normalizing relations and coexistence with Armenia. This was stated by Murad Muradov, the Azerbaijani delegate and founder of the Topchubashov Centre, during a conversation with journalists at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly's 108th 'Rose-Roth' seminar that started today in Yerevan.

He added, 'I believe that in general, societies are making positive gestures so that coexistence with each other can progress on a more positive and optimistic backdrop.' In response to the question of whether Azerbaijani forces are planning to withdraw from the sovereign territory of Armenia, which they occupied from 2021 to 2023, as a step toward peace, he said: 'In general, we can say that both Azerbaijan and Armenia fully recognize and appreciate each other's territorial integrity.'

Regarding the occupied territories, he noted that delimitation should not be a one-way process but should be carried out in stages. Over time, certain enclaves or changes in areas should occur. Both Armenia and Azerbaijan must withdraw from certain territories, and some changes in territories are expected to happen.'

Earlier, the Azerbaijani MP had also discussed the reasons for the non-signing of the peace agreement.
