European Commission Plans to Limit Uranium Imports from Russia
Ofelya
The European Commission plans to restrict the import of enriched uranium from Russia, but at this time cannot provide specific timelines for proposals on the matter. This announcement was made by European Commission representative Anna Kaisa Itkonen during a press briefing in Brussels, as reported by the TASS news agency.
“It is still being planned, but at this moment I have no information to share with you,” she said in response to a relevant question.
Additionally, the European Commission has postponed the publication of proposals to ban nuclear fuel imports from Russia to EU countries. According to data from Eurostat, Russia currently supplies 38% of all enriched uranium imported by the EU.
