We Have Made Decisions in This Hall and Built Two Nuclear Power Plants Over the Past Seven Years, Says Pashinyan
Today, we have 850 megawatts of installed solar power plants. This was announced during a government meeting by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan.
“We need to find ways to export our generated electric energy. Not to mention, the abundance of electricity in our country should also generate certain investment interest, particularly in the high-tech sector. For instance, artificial intelligence, cryptocurrencies, and so on consume a huge amount of electric energy, far beyond the ordinary, they consume excessive electric energy,” said the Prime Minister.
Pashinyan added that there are concerns, but we should not halt or slow down the development of solar energy. “We should let it develop on its own, we need to catch up with it using our technological solutions and so on. I understand it is very complicated, but this is a serious economic, energy security issue, including our state security and independence. We must consistently pursue this path, not to mention that it is obvious that this is the future. We can fully meet all our domestic needs with the electricity produced from our own resources, do you understand what strategic issue we have resolved?” he asserted.
According to him, we need to learn how to manage it. “We must find solutions, administrative, technical, and political solutions. I am saying this is a very serious resource. That is, apart from the nuclear power plant, we have built two nuclear power plants during this period, without any noise or fuss. We have made decisions in this hall and have built two nuclear power plants, in particular, over the last seven years,” concluded Pashinyan.
