Electric Networks of Armenia Saves $265,000 on Cable Purchases

The new leadership of Electric Networks of Armenia has announced savings of 102 million AMD (approximately $265,000) resulting from cable purchases. According to the company's statement, 31 companies expressed interest in the tender for the supply of cross-linked polyethylene insulated electric cables (for 35 kV voltage), of which 14 submitted financial proposals and 5 submitted direct participation applications.

The prices proposed by the participants varied from 19,200 AMD ($50) to 40,142 AMD ($104) per meter, excluding VAT. During the meeting of the tender committee, one of the participants offered a minimum price of 18,400 AMD ($48) and was declared the winner.

The company notes that according to the annual procurement plan for 2025, the budget for this purchase was set at 30,000 AMD ($78 excluding VAT) per unit. Based on the annual plan, the company had planned to allocate approximately 264 million AMD for procurement (considering a purchase of 8,800 meters), but spent only 162 million AMD in reality. Electric Networks of Armenia stated that 'the reduction occurred as a result of free competition,' which activated business participation.
