Azerbaijan Makes Major Investments in Israel

Azerbaijan's investments in Israel regarding the exploitation of the Tamar gas field in the Mediterranean have amounted to half a billion dollars, as reported by a representative of Azerbaijan's central bank. These investments reached $542.5 million in the first half of 2025.

Notably, during this reporting period, Azerbaijan's foreign direct investment volume totaled $1.35 billion. Thus, Israel has become the country where Azerbaijan has made the most investments in the first half of this year.

In May 2025, Israel's Antitrust Authority granted Azerbaijan's state oil company permission to acquire a 10 percent stake in the Tamar field exploitation project.
