Investigative Committee Reports on Tragic Incident at 'Hidden Waterfall'

A 28-year-old woman set out on a hike towards the 'Hidden Waterfall' with a friend, where she slipped and fell into the water. However, she managed to get out while calling for help from her friend, who did not respond. The body of the young man was later discovered in the water at the scene.

The Tavush regional investigative directorate of the Investigative Committee is taking the necessary measures to clarify all the circumstances surrounding the incident that occurred at the 'Hidden Waterfall'. The report of the incident was received on May 28, 2022, at 17:25, in which the 28-year-old woman reported that her friend had gone missing around 16:00 on the same day in the area known as 'Hidden Waterfall'. Preliminary data suggests that on May 28, 2022, around 11:30, the aforementioned woman set out on a hike to 'Hidden Waterfall' with her friend, where she slipped and fell into the water but was able to get out while calling for help from her friend, who did not respond.

Search efforts conducted by the Dilijan fire and rescue unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations led to the discovery of the young man's body in the water at the site on May 29, 2022, at 07:25. An on-site investigation has been conducted as part of the preparation of materials regarding the incident. Measures are being taken to clarify the circumstances of the man's death, and forensic examinations have been appointed,” the statement reads.
