About 450 Armenian Trucks Remain Blocked in Russia: "Spayka" is Not Alone
About 450 Armenian trucks continue to remain blocked in Russia, as reported by the "Pahst" newspaper.
“We previously informed you that the Russian law enforcement agencies had halted and blocked more than a hundred trucks belonging to the Armenian company 'Spayka' without any justification. New information has surfaced regarding this issue.
It turns out that not only the trucks of 'Spayka' are blocked, but also those from about 50 other companies exporting goods to Russia. In total, around 450 trucks are affected, which, according to our sources, are blocked at the Upper Lars checkpoint for various reasons, often even without any justification. As a result, all the companies that own these cargoes are suffering enormous losses. Specifically, they are paying about $100 per day for each truck, not to mention that there are also vehicles carrying perishable goods.
Experts explain this situation with several factors. These are related to the insufficient performance of the respective Armenian state structures and have external political nuances as well. In particular, there is an opinion that all of this may be a reaction to the sharp geopolitical shifts in Armenia’s foreign policy orientation. Let us remind you that recently Russian media, experts, and some officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk, have directly warned about this,” the newspaper writes.
