RA Regulator Rejects Administrative Complaint Filed by Electric Networks of Armenia
The Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia has discussed several issues related to the rejection of the administrative complaint submitted by the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), the pledge of shares by Viva-MTS, and other agenda items.
According to information provided by the Commission to NEWS.am, specifically, the Commission's decision No. 209-A, dated May 29, 2025, extended the operational period of the guaranteed supply license granted to ENA until February 1, 2029. The company contested the decision, requesting that the Commission annul its decision from May 29, 2025, and extend the license for the previously allocated period.
The Commission initiated an administrative proceeding, during which it was determined that the Commission's decision was lawful. This is because, in this case, the law provides that necessary measures for ensuring the guaranteed supply of electricity across Armenia are developed and implemented according to the government-approved program after the expiration of the guaranteed supplier status stipulated deadline. The content of the provisions included in this program and the actions directed towards their implementation indicate that the operational period of the guaranteed supply license granted to the company could be extended for a maximum period until February 1, 2029.
