Disciplinary Proceedings Initiated Against Hayk Sargsyan Based on Aram Simonyan's Request
In response to media inquiries, it has been reported that in April 2025, the CP Executive initiated disciplinary proceedings against National Assembly member Hayk Sargsyan based on a request from Assembly President Alen Simonyan, resulting in a severe reprimand for Sargsyan. This information has been provided by the CP.
"Prior to the vote on the matter, Hayk Sargsyan submitted a request to initiate disciplinary proceedings against Alen Simonyan. The Supervisory Commission invited Hayk Sargsyan twice to present explanations regarding his request. However, Sargsyan could not attend due to not being in the Republic of Armenia. The CP Supervisory Commission found no grounds to initiate disciplinary proceedings against Alen Simonyan. At the same time, we remind that according to the Statute of the CP, members of the party are obliged to show respect towards other participants in discussions. Violating this statute can result in disciplinary liability," the statement said.
