Putin is Trying to Deceive Trump, Says Zelensky

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is attempting to deceive U.S. President Donald Trump in order to postpone the implementation of new sanctions. He added, “The meeting in Alaska provided a lot for the Russian leader. He stated that if it were a trilateral meeting with Ukraine, the outcome could have been different; the Alaska summit helped Putin emerge from political isolation.”

“He is doing everything to ensure that the U.S. and President Trump do not impose new sanctions against him. If the application of these sanctions is postponed, the Russians will be better prepared,” Zelensky said.

“Putin must be held accountable for the war he unleashed and his attempts to come out of isolation. It is very important not to give him space, otherwise he will not stop the war. Sanctions alone are not enough,” Zelensky added.

According to him, Putin understands only the language of power. “He is waging war, and they are trying to stop him with requests and negotiations. But power is necessary; it is the only language he understands.”

In conclusion, Zelensky called on the United States and European countries to strengthen and expedite pressure measures.
