352 Individuals Issued Citations for Violating Restrictions

The police continue to ensure the implementation of the decisions of the Prime Minister concerning the restrictions on the free movement of individuals aimed at preventing potential spread of the novel coronavirus. This was reported by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

On March 30, from 9:00 to 18:00, administrative citations were issued to 352 individuals for violating quarantine or self-isolation rules or other restrictions on the right to free movement. Additionally, before 18:00 on March 30, after the decision entered into force, citations were issued to 3,213 individuals, with 1,666 in the capital and 1,547 in the regions.

During the same time period, traffic police identified 215 vehicles in which there were more than two people, and following the enforcement of the Prime Minister's decision until March 30 at 18:00, 2,443 vehicles were noted for the same infraction. All individuals violating the decision were required to disembark from their vehicles.

Citations were also issued to 58 public transport drivers who were found to be carrying more passengers than permitted. We urge the public once again to strictly limit leaving their residences and to do so only in cases of extreme necessity. We advise drivers to transport only one passenger while adhering to the requirements stipulated by the Prime Minister’s decision.
