Interior Ministry Acquires Drones Powered by Artificial Intelligence

As part of the reforms at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police units continue to develop their capabilities and enhance their skills. From now on, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with artificial intelligence will be utilized in operations, increasing operational responsiveness.

On September 9 and 10, police officers from the Operational Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Troops underwent special training on the use of drones, completing both theoretical and practical examinations.

The precise use of drones is crucial for police troopers in maintaining public order and ensuring safety, as well as in carrying out anti-terror operations as authorized by the establishment of the Police Guard under the reform framework, ensuring effective actions in various situations and guaranteeing the legality of those actions.

The UAVs are equipped with modern high-level security systems and have multifunctional capabilities. Thanks to artificial intelligence, police officers can deploy drones from locations such as the Operational Management Center to quickly determine how many vehicles are caught in traffic at any intersection, identify the causes of the congestion, capture offenders during disturbances, and record vehicle license plates and models.

The drones also have the capacity to communicate with citizens through loudspeakers. Similar training sessions are planned for the personnel of the police regional units in the near future.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, acknowledging its responsibility for ensuring internal security, continuously emphasizes the importance of developing police officers' skills through ongoing training and courses.
