Finland's Interior Ministry Announces Border with Russia Will Remain Closed
The Interior Minister of Finland has announced that the border with Russia will remain closed. According to RIA Novosti, Minister Maria Rantanen made this statement during a press conference with EU Commissioner for Security and Migration Magnus Brunner.
"The border crossings will remain closed for the time being," she said.
The minister insisted that the threat of migration directed from Russia continues to remain high.
Finland imposed restrictions at its border crossings in November 2023 due to an uncontrolled flow of refugees from third countries. According to the authorities, the border with Russia will remain closed until further notice.
