Complete Capture of Gaza May Take Several Months, Says IDF Spokesperson
The complete capture of Gaza by Israel may take several months, according to the spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Efi Defrin.
Today, the Israel Defense Forces launched strikes on the Hodeidah port in Yemen, which is under Houthi control, as announced by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in The Jerusalem Post.
“The strike was a response to the repeated attacks against the State of Israel by the Houthi terrorist regime, including the launching of drones and ‘ground-to-ground’ type missiles toward the State of Israel,” stated the IDF's announcement.
Al Masirah television has reported that Israel's 12 strikes targeted shipyards at the port. Two port sources told Reuters that the strikes were aimed at three ports that had been restored after previous attacks by Israel.
Residents in the area informed Reuters that the attack lasted about 10 minutes. The strikes took place after IDF representative Colonel Avichay Adraee urged citizens to evacuate the area.
Adraee warned that ships anchored in the port should leave the area and cautioned that those who remain “risk their lives.”
