Retired Admiral Tamer Erturk criticized Turkish government officials on the country's Tele1 news network, accusing them of 'lying' about claims that they found the crash site of the Iranian president's helicopter. This falsehood, according to the military expert, was immediately 'exposed' by Iranian authorities.

This Turkish military expert asserts that if a drone played a role in locating the helicopter's crash site, the credit should not go to Akinci but rather to the European company that produces the drone's sensors.
