August 8 Completely Changed Our Environment: Secretary of the Security Council
The security system, on which we relied until at least the 2020 war, has not demonstrated viability during the subsequent period, and we needed an alternative ideology. This was stated by the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan.
“It can be said that August 8 has comprehensively changed our security environment. In the near future, we need to discuss the necessity of formulating a strategy; we have strategies, but there is a challenge of putting them on paper and keeping up with the spirit of the times,” he announced.
According to him, the security environment around us was changing so rapidly that having a strategy was constantly being postponed. “By the beginning of 2025, our environment continued to change, but clarity had been brought into our policies and we decided to establish a strategy. However, by the time we nearly reached the final point, finalizing the text, August 8 occurred, which completely changed our environment again. Of course, we had a peace agenda, but at least in terms of policies, we need to adopt new policies adapted to the new environment. Now the question arises regarding the mere existence of a strategy, which needs to be discussed. We have not yet had discussions around this, but there is a necessity for it,” stated the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan.
