Resolution on Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Resolution Approved

The UN General Assembly has approved a resolution aimed at resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the two-state principle. The document calls for the peaceful cessation of hostilities and the return of hostages held by Hamas. It emphasizes the importance of disarming Hamas, improving relations between Israel and Arab countries, and providing comprehensive security guarantees.

A total of 142 countries voted in favor of the resolution, while 10 countries, including Israel, the United States, and Hungary, voted against it, with 12 delegations abstaining.

The permanent representative of Israel to the UN criticized the resolution, stating that it encourages Hamas. Palestinian permanent observer Riyad Mansour urged, in his words, for the side continuing the war and destroying Palestinians to heed the voice of reason.

Earlier, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, and Belgium announced their intention to recognize the state of Palestine soon. The Prime Minister of Israel declared that such a move would not be permitted.
