Tehran Condemns Israel's Attacks on Lebanon
Tehran has strongly condemned Israel's military strikes on Lebanese territory, labeling them as "aggression by the Zionist regime" and a direct threat to regional security. According to IRNA, citing the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the attacks violate Lebanon's sovereignty and constitute a "crime against international peace."
The Iranian Foreign Ministry accused Israel of "expanding its expansionist policies," while blaming the United States for directly "aiding and abetting" in escalating tensions. "These actions would not be possible without American backing," stated the ministry's announcement.
According to Tehran, since the ceasefire signed in November, more than 1,000 people have been killed and injured due to Israeli strikes on Lebanese territory, along with the destruction of civilian infrastructure and residential areas. The statement emphasizes that these attacks hinder Lebanon's reconstruction process and aim to "undermine its sovereignty and security."
Iran has called on the UN and the international community to adopt a stronger stance against Israel, hold it accountable, and prevent the consolidation of impunity. Tehran also expressed condolences to the Lebanese people and reaffirmed its readiness to support "legitimate resistance" in protecting the country's sovereignty and borders.
