Avanesyan on the Case of Child Injured by Dog Bite

The Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan, wrote on her Facebook page: "We have another case of a child injured by a dog bite in the Ararat region. This year, we have also had fatalities, caused by the failure to seek medical attention in time and not getting vaccinated. Dear citizens, I want to urge vigilance. In the case of a dog or other animal bite, even if there is no visible injury, please contact your local physician. We have ensured that all medical facilities are stocked with rabies vaccines. Deaths from rabies can be prevented through post-exposure prophylaxis. Do not delay, do not attempt self-treatment, as vaccinations need to be administered before clinical symptoms appear; otherwise, an unfavorable outcome is unavoidable," wrote Avanesyan.
