UN General Assembly Approves 'New York Declaration' with Armenia Voting in Favor

The UN General Assembly has approved the 'New York Declaration' regarding the peaceful resolution of the Palestine-Israel conflict by a large majority. A total of 142 countries, including Armenia, expressed their support for the document, while 10 voted against it and another 12 abstained.

The countries voting against include Israel, the United States, Argentina, Paraguay, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Panama, Palau, and the Federated States of Micronesia.

Twelve countries abstained, including Cameroon, the Dominican Republic, North Macedonia, South Sudan, Moldova, Samoa, and others.

The initiative was led by France and Saudi Arabia and emphasizes the urgency and necessity for irreversible actions towards a two-state solution. It also calls for an end to violence and the transfer of governance in the Gaza Strip to the Palestinian National Authority.
