The Conflict in Ukraine Will Last Several More Years: Kaja Kallas
The head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, has suggested that the conflict in Ukraine may continue for several more years. She also proposed two scenarios for the evolution of events in Ukraine: a realistic and a pessimistic one, reported EFE.
“I believe the realistic scenario is that this war will continue for several more years,” Kallas said, as quoted by the agency. She also noted that the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump to resolve the Ukrainian crisis have yielded no results.
According to Kallas, the pessimistic scenario is that Ukraine will be forced to concede its territories. “The development of events largely depends on us—Europe—and how we respond to it,” she added.
Earlier, the EU’s chief diplomat had spoken in the nearly empty chamber of the European Parliament about how much money EU countries have spent on Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict.
