Return of Armenian Citizens from Abroad Scheduled for April 19-23
Return of Armenian citizens from various locations and countries is scheduled between April 19-23. Immediately thereafter, efforts will be made to organize the return of our other citizens currently in Moscow, coordinating actions with the possibilities of keeping returnees in quarantine, as stated in the statement from the Operational Headquarters.
The Operational Headquarters reminds that on April 6, 7, and 12, the return of Armenian citizens from Moscow was carried out through three charter flights.
Currently, the Operational Headquarters is in contact with Armenian citizens located in nearly 50 countries around the world through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Armenian diplomatic representations. Due to the further spread of the coronavirus, it is not possible to immediately ensure the return of all of them to their homeland. The resulting complications are due to several circumstances, including the possibilities of keeping all returnees in quarantine, airspace restrictions, and health risks associated with traveling in countries where the coronavirus is widespread.
As a result of the measures taken by the Operational Headquarters, from March 14 to April 17, the return of 21,206 Armenian citizens from a number of countries to Armenia has been organized or coordinated. Actions in this direction will be continuous. Even in cases where immediate organization of return is not possible, all available measures are being and will be taken to address the needs of our citizens on the ground, including accommodation.
