The Authorities Have Been Telling a Fairy Tale About Football Sports Schools for About 3 Years: Manukyan
The authorities of Armenia have been telling a fairy tale about football sports schools for about three years. During his speech in the National Assembly, Gegham Manukyan, a member of the 'Armenia' faction, stated, 'At this moment, I am going to recount a fairy tale that costs 6.5 million dollars. Everyone has heard of the fairy tale worth 2 billion 500 million drams, but it has been especially told to the residents of Artashat, Martuni, Ijevan, and Davtashen by the Armenian government, led by the fairy-tale teller Nikol Pashinyan. It was presented as an unprecedented event for football.'
He added that the tale refers to a grant allocated by the government in 2022, with which four football sports schools were to be built in Martuni, Davtashen, and Ashtarak. He reminded that in the case of grants, a report is submitted for every 1,000 dollars; however, nearly three years have passed since the grant was given by the state, yet there are no updates.
The opposition deputy also pointed out the inconsistency in the authorities' statements, recalling Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's post from June of this year, in which he claimed that the Martuni stadium had been returned to the community.
