Tensions in the Middle East Have Sharply Increased: Lavrov
Tensions in the Middle East have sharply escalated following Israel's bombing of Doha. This was stated by Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“Our meetings today are taking place under conditions of a sharp increase in military-political tension in the Middle East, caused by Israel's missile and bombing attacks on Doha on September 9,” he said.
Lavrov also noted that Israel's actions indicate an intention to disrupt the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state. “It is evident that the actions of the Israelis obstruct international efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution, as well as demonstrate a lack of desire to halt the unprecedented humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank,” Lavrov stated.
