Moscow Sees No Threats to Armenia and Azerbaijan's Continued Membership in the CIS

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commented on the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku, as reported by RIA Novosti, citing Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin.

“Whose threats? For whom and from whom? In fact, membership in the CIS is voluntary. I don't know where the word 'threat' is coming from. It is a free association of states. Moreover, we see the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We hope this will also be a positive factor for further participation in the CIS,” said Pankin.
