Motion Rejected: Judge Farukhyan to Continue Reviewing the Case of Bishop Bagrat
Today, September 10, at the Shengavit court of general jurisdiction in Yerevan, the court session regarding the case of Bishop Bagrat and other participants of the 'Sacred Struggle' movement continued.
During the session, the defense attorney for the accused Vahagn Chakhalyan submitted a motion for disqualification of Judge Karen Farukhyan, citing the fact that the judge made a decision to extend Chakhalyan's detention without the participation of the defense.
Judge Karen Farukhyan rejected the disqualification motion presented by Vahagn Chakhalyan's attorney. He will continue to review the case of Bishop Bagrat and other participants of the 'Sacred Struggle' movement.
According to the indictment, Bishop Bagrat has been charged with failing to achieve the goal set for the 'Sacred Struggle' movement, which he initiated and led, within several months, through the means permitted by the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia to assume power in Armenia.
