Iran Has Not Granted Access to Nuclear Sites for IAEA Inspectors, Araqchi Says

Iran has not yet granted permission for IAEA inspectors to visit its nuclear facilities, despite an agreement on the resumption of cooperation. This was announced by the Islamic Republic's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.

It was reported earlier that the Iranian Foreign Minister and the Director General of the IAEA signed an agreement to resume cooperation, which had been suspended following attacks on Iran by Israel and the United States. "I must note that under this agreement, we are not currently providing access to IAEA inspectors," Araqchi said.

According to him, Iran and the IAEA will negotiate access for inspectors to the country’s nuclear sites in the future.

It is worth mentioning that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed a decree on July 2nd implementing a law that suspends cooperation with the IAEA.
